Patient anxiety for even the most minor surgery is common. For children and their parents, it can be even more so. At Meadows Surgical Center, we do our best to help address any concerns the family may have.
WAITING AREA
As an effort to minimize anxiety to our young patients, we have designed an area in our waiting room specially for them. Our Kids Corner includes Legos and GameBoys with a variety of games.
EARLY IN THE DAY PROCEDURES
Since recovery for young people can be longer than with adults, surgical procedures for children are scheduled early in the day. This allows for extended recovery time before our young patients leave the center with their parents.
RECOVERY AREA
After the procedure, young patients awaken in their Private Recovery Room greeted by smiling parents at their bedside. Next to the bed, are a TV and VCR with a selection of the very latest movies, entertain the patient as well as the family during the recovery period.
