Ahmad F. Mahmoud, MD is a member of Summit Medical Group’s Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) team. Dr. Mahmoud diagnoses and treats a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions in children and adults and has expertise in the surgical management of and effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. In addition, he performs skull base and facial reconstructive surgery.
A native of New Jersey, Dr. Mahmoud attended Rutgers University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a dual degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Dr. Mahmoud went on to work for NASA as an aerodynamics engineer where he developed new rocketry technology for several space missions. Seeing a way to apply his knowledge in medicine, Dr. Mahmoud attended medical school and residency at the University of Pennsylvania where he translated his aerodynamics research into improving breathing for patients with nasal and airway obstruction as well as obstructive sleep apnea. In his spare time, Dr. Mahmoud enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. He plays soccer and squash and is an avid hiker.
